Being brought up with traditional values of Vedic Dharma, I’ve always felt a natural gravitation towards Vedic culture, tradition, philosophy and history. From reading scriptures since an early age to learning from great scholars about the ageless epics of the Ramayana and Mahabharata along with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Puranas and Vedanta, I’ve always had a strong inclination towards the sacred, the divine and the occult.
The timeless statuary, unique jewelry, original photography, artistic paintings, home décor, furniture pieces and artisan handcrafted goods among the many other items have all been hand selected in such a way, so as to bring you an experience of that which is sacred, right to your doorstep & into your home, office and/or altar space.
We offer goods that combine handcrafted traditions with modern styles to bring an artisanal feel to your homes and your lives. Darshana Living has been formed from a quest for finding unique and quality handmade items. Things that spark familiarity at first sight, made using timeless craftsmanship and age old workmanship.
Throughout my lifetime, I’ve been captivated by the ancient Hindu temple architecture which is divided into the Nagara style of the North and the Dravidian style of the South with other regional styles. Also, capturing my imagination have been ancient civilizations in the Indus Valley, where people lived across the land in brick houses, well-designed streets, exceptional water systems, granaries, citadels and some mixed used buildings. Traditional Vastu Shastra has remained quite influential in India’s architecture during the contemporary era. Also, influencing my thought have been European styles including neoclassical, gothic revival and baroque.
